Why we brought AI Builders to Warsaw
Błażej Zyglarski, who had attended AI Builders events abroad, told the rest of our team about how inspiring the community was - and then Anna, our CRO, asked THE QUESTION: why isn't this happening in Poland?
Why not? Warsaw has no shortage of AI talent – engineers, founders, and researchers building real products, not just experimenting with prompts. What was missing was a place for them to actually connect, without a sales pitch attached.
Before August, Poland had no AI Builders chapter. Now it has a monthly one, co-hosted by Simplito. The Launch Edition at CIC Warsaw on August 11 was the first of the series.
Inside the Launch Edition
It didn't feel like a typical meetup. There were no slides pretending to be insights, no vendor trying to get five minutes of your attention. Just people who'd built something real, showing it, and being upfront about what worked and what didn't.
Three speakers opened the very first Polish edition:
- Błażej Zyglarski – with Your Own AI Agent Without Tokens: Hermes On-prem on Mac, a demo of running an AI agent locally, without relying on token-metered APIs.
- Jakub Wąsek – with What is an AI Gateway? Building GoModel, unpacking what it actually takes to build an AI gateway from scratch.
- Daniil Rabizo – with Voice AI in Real World: Building a Receptionist in Practice, showing a real-time voice AI agent that people could actually talk to.
Beyond the talks, the evening followed the AI Builders formula that's worked in other cities: pizza, drinks, and a lot of time for actual conversation – the kind that turns into collaborations, hires, or side projects.
What this means for Poland's AI community
AI Builders Warsaw is now a recurring fixture, and we're committed to keeping it running, growing the speaker lineup, and making sure Polish AI builders have a real seat at a table that already spans several cities worldwide.
We're happy to be part of something bigger than one event. Poland has real AI talent, scattered across companies, agencies, and side projects that never quite intersect. AI Builders Warsaw gives that talent a reason to be in the same room, month after month.
What's next
The Launch Edition was just the beginning. Future editions are already in motion – including an Enterprise Edition, focused on the harder, messier reality of deploying AI inside real organizations, where adoption is rarely as simple as calling an API.
